ఆకివీడు: మునిసిపల్ కుళాయిల ద్వారా శ్రీరామపురానికి రెండు నెలలుగా కలుషిత తాగునీరు సరఫరా అవుతోంది. మంచినీరు అందించాలని శుక్రవారం మహిళలు ఆందోళన చేపట్టారు. రంగుమారిన నురగ, దుర్వాసనతో కూడిన నీరు వస్తుందని ఆవేదన వ్యక్తం చేశారు. ఆ నీటితో స్నానం చేస్తుంటే ఒళ్లంతా దద్దుర్లు, దురదలు వస్తున్నాయని, పిల్లలు, వృద్ధులు అనారోగ్యం బారిన పడుతున్నారని వాపోయారు. అధికారులు ఈ నీటిని తాగితే తమ ఇబ్బందులు తెలుస్తాయని మండి పడ్డారు. మంచినీటి పైపులలో డ్రైనేజీ నీరు కలిసిపోవడంతో తాగునీరు కలుషితమవుతుందని వారు తెలిపారు.
ఈ సమస్యపై నగర పంచాయతీ ఎఈఈ. నిమ్మల విజయ్కుమార్ మాట్లాడుతూ బాధితులు తమ దృష్టికి తీసుకురావడంతో శ్రీరామపురంలో పలుచోట్ల పైపులైన్లను పరీక్షించామన్నారు. డ్రైనేజీ నీరు కలుస్తున్న జాడలేదన్నారు. కుళాయి నీరు మురుగు, దుర్వాసన రావడంతో మరోసారి పరిశీలిస్తామన్నారు.

Contaminated Drinking Water Supply
Akividu : Contaminated drinking water has been supplied through municipal taps to Sriramapuram for the past two months. Demanding clean drinking water, women staged a protest on Friday. They expressed deep concern that the water being supplied is discolored, frothy, and emits a foul odor. They lamented that bathing with this water causes rashes and itching all over the body, and children and the elderly are falling sick. They angrily remarked that officials would only understand their plight if they drank this water themselves. They stated that the drinking water is getting contaminated because drainage water is mixing into the drinking water pipelines.
Speaking on this issue, Nagar Panchayat AEE. Nimmala Vijay Kumar stated that following the victims bringing the matter to their attention, they inspected the pipelines at several locations in Sriramapuram. He mentioned that no signs of drainage water mixing were found. However, since the tap water is turbid and foul-smelling, he assured that they would inspect the lines once again.
