పూడికతీత పనుల్లో ఇష్టారాజ్యం

ఆకివీడు టౌన్: ఆకివీడు నగర పంచాయతీలో అభివృద్ధి పనుల పేరిట అక్రమార్కులు కాసులు దండుకున్నారు. ప్రైవేటు వ్యక్తులకు అప్పగించిన చెరువుల ప్రక్షాళన పనులపై ఎలాంటి పర్యవేక్షణ లేకపోవడంతో.. భారీగా మట్టి తవ్వితరలించారు. ఇంత జరిగినా ఆ చెరువులు వినియోగంలోకి రాకపోగా గట్లు అస్తవ్యస్తంగా తయారయ్యాయి.

హద్దులు నిర్ణయించకుండానే..

ఆకివీడు పట్టణ నడిబొడ్డున సుమారు 5 ఎకరాల విస్తీర్ణంలో ఉండాల్సిన దొరగారి చెరువు భూముల్లో సుమారు 3 ఎకరాలు ఆక్రమణల చేరలో ఉన్నాయి. సుమారు 25 ఏళ్లుగా నిరుపయోగంగా ఉన్న ఈ చెరువును వినియోగంలోకి తెచ్చేందుకు.. కొంతమేర పూడిక మట్టిని తవ్వి తరలించుకునే వెసులుబాటుతో పనులను ఓ ప్రైవేటు వ్యక్తికి అప్పగించారు. దీంతో యంత్రాలతో లోతుగా తవ్వి ట్రాక్టర్లతో నెలల తరబడి మట్టి తరలించుకుపోయారు. పనులు ప్రారంభించక ముందు ఆ చెరువు భూమికి హద్దులు నిర్ణయించలేదు. చుట్టూ ఉన్న ఆక్రమణలను తొలగించకుండా మిగిలిన ఉన్న చెరువును లోతుగా తవ్వేయడంతో చివరకు ఊట గుంటలా మార్చేశారు. ఈ క్రమంలో గట్లు జారిపోవడంతో చుట్టూ కొంత మేర మట్టి పోసి పనులు పూర్తి చేసినట్లు చూపారు. చుట్టుపక్కల ఆక్రమిత ప్రాంతాల నుంచి ఊరుతున్న కలుషిత నీరంతా ఈ చెరువులోకి చేరగా.. దీనిని కప్పిపుచ్చేందుకు వెంకయ్యవయ్యేరు కాలువ నుంచి కొంత మేర నీటి తోడి వదిలేశారు. ఆక్రమణలను పూర్తిగా తొలగించి ఈ చెరువును ఆధునికీకరిస్తే భవిష్యత్తు అవసరాలకు ఉపయోగపడుతుందని ప్రజలు అభిప్రాయపడుతున్నారు

కొండయ్య చెరువులోనూ..

ఆకివీడు శివారులో 6.20 ఎకరాల విస్తీర్ణంలో ఉండే కొండయ్య చెరువు కూడా అనేక ఏళ్లుగా నిరుపయోగంగా ఉంది. దీనిని వినియోగంలోకి తెచ్చేందుకు తొలుత సర్వే చేసి హద్దులు నిర్ణయించారు. చెరువు భూమి రెండు ఎకరాల వరకు ఆక్రమణకు గురైందని అధికారులు గుర్తించారు. దీనిలో కొంత మేర మట్టిని తవ్వి తరలించుకునేలా మరో వ్యక్తికి పనులు అప్పగించారు. గతేడాది ఆగస్టులో ఈ పనులు ప్రారంభం కాగా నెలల తరబడి చెరువును లోతుగా తవ్వి మట్టిని తరలించారు. ఇక్కడ కూడా ఆక్రమణల తొలగింపుపై దృష్టి సారించలేదు. ప్రస్తుతం ఈ చెరువు నిండా ఊట నీరు చేరి పిచ్చి మొక్కలు పెరిగాయి. ఈ అంశాన్ని కమిషనర్ కృష్ణమోహన్ దృష్టికి  తీసుకెళ్లగా ఆయా చెరువులను వినియోగంలోకి తీసుకొస్తామని, ఆక్రమణల తొలగింపు దిశగా చర్యలు తీసుకుంటామని చెప్పారు.

Akividu Town: Allegations are being made that illegal modifications are being done under the guise of development works in the Akividu Nagar Panchayat. Due to a lack of supervision over the tank works handed over to private individuals, massive amounts of soil have been excavated and shifted. Despite this, the tanks have not been brought into public utility, and the bunds have fallen into a state of total neglect.

Doragari tank, spanning about 5 acres in the heart of Akividu town, has around 3 acres under encroachment. It has remained useless for nearly 25 years. To bring this tank back into utility, permission was given to a private individual to excavate and move some desilted soil. Consequently, they dug deeply using machinery and transported the soil for months using tractors.

Before starting the work, the boundaries of the tank land were not determined. Without clearing the surrounding encroachments, they dug the remaining tank area so deeply that it eventually turned into spring-water pits. In the process, because the bunds sloped down, they filled the surrounding areas with a small amount of soil and claimed the work was completed. Water oozing from surrounding encroached areas...

All the contaminated seepage water from the surrounding areas is flowing into this tank. To cover this up, some water was pumped into it from the Venkayyavoyyeru canal. People opine that if the encroachments are completely removed and the tank is modernized, it will serve future needs.

Even in Kondayya Tank...
Similarly, the Kondayya tank, spanning an area of 6.20 acres on the outskirts of Akividu, has also been lying useless for years. To bring it into utility, authorities initially conducted a survey and fixed the boundaries. Officials identified that about two acres of the tank land was subject to encroachment.

Permission was granted to another individual to excavate and shift a portion of the soil. Since last August, these works commenced, and soil was excavated and shifted deeply from the tank for months. Here too, no attention was paid to the removal of encroachments. Currently, this tank is filled with seepage water, and wild weeds have overgrown.

When this issue was brought to the attention of Commissioner Krishnamohan by 'News Today', he stated that steps would be taken to clear the encroachments and bring those tanks into public utility.
